Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was born and lived at home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam was a vocalist for the backup band of Philadelphia International Records. In the age of five Her father was appointed to the position of the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. Her family later moved into this historic building. The year 2005 marks her Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts student, she is a major in singing. Sullivan began singing in the school's chorus as a contralto after which she was a part of the adult chorus a couple of years afterwards. He was exposed to secular music but was initially limited "I performed solos at church . Someone wanted me to sign to a gospel label when I was 11 years old, but I wasn't at the point of doing that," she recalls. In the following year, McDonald's held a contest for kids in big cities. I was selected to sing "Accept what God allows" in The show Showtime at the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. When she was 13 years old, she performed to Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday celebration. Sullivan was initially signed to Jive Records at the age 15. There, she recorded an entire album, but it was never released. Sullivan was later dropped from the label. There was a close relationship with Missy Elliott she produced many of the tracks from her debut, which included the hit single "Backstabbers" - produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
